Winter Angel Art Challenge!

Recently, my angel friend, Stacy, challenged us all to make something that falls under the "Winter Art" catagory! Of course I have the perfect thing for this right now!

I recently made several ornaments for an Open House. I used wooden snowflake ornaments from Hobby Lobby, painted them with acrylic paints and then stamped on them with either the TAC Snowflake set or the Christmas Cirlce set! I also used lots of ribbon, as usual, and Stickles! Gotta love Stickles!

This one uses paper mache boxes from Hobby Lobby, painted red and then I used the TAC Christmas Circle set! I also stamped the Snowflake set in the background but I don't think you can see it in the picture!

These are just painted green with Stickles all over them!

And again, wooden snowflakes from HL. TAC Snowflake set with Stickles!

All of the girls listed below have also created something in the Winter theme. Click on each of their names to see their blogs and what Winter Art they have created!

This should help you get into the creating mood! Happy Winter! Stay warm!!

I am in love....

You would think I would say it is with my husband. And I am....but that is not what I am blogging about today. I should say my kids....which I TOTALLY am....but again, not what I am blogging about.

What then, you ask? Well, I have re-realized my true love for the color red.....and Kraft cardstock! I know, that sounds corny but hey...at least I can admit it! I look back over my posts and you can really see it! Red and Kraft all over the place!

So tonight I am posting some more Red and Kraft! I made these 2 different cards within a few days of each other not trying to make cards that look alike. It just happened! And really, there are NO other colors than Red and Kraft cardstock. Ok, I sound like a broken record now so I will just show you the cards. They are truly monochromatic! But I love it! And the pictures don't do them justice!

The great thing about both cards is they are just way too simple but I think they turned out kinda cute!
For this card I used Pure Poppy carstock from Papertrey, as well as Pure Poppy Palette Ink. White CS from TAC along with the Ordinary Greetings stamp set for the sentiment and my fav, Kraft Cardstock from Hobby Lobby! The background stamp is Stampabilities from HL too! Oh the flower is from Hobby Lobby too, Paper Studio!

I really like this next card! I used Kraft CS again for the card and then I used my scorpal to score the lines on each side. I used a circle cutter to cut off the ends of each corner. Paper, Ribbon and Ink:Pure Poppy, Papertrey. Stamps: Papertrey

Maybe the red is kinda boring to some of you but again, they are better IRL!! Hope you like them! Leave me some comments and tell me what you think! Thanks for looking!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today I am spending time with my sister and her husband in Colorado! As I watch the news and listen to the stories of the people who don't have family or are affected by the economic crisis, I realize how thankful I am today! God has truly blessed me with His presence in my life! My kids and family are healthy! I have a home that is safe and warm! I have friends who love me! I am so Thankful for everything in my life!

When I checked my email today I found a great surprise! Melisa Waldorf nominated me for the Encouraged Blogger award! This is what she said:

"Hi ladies. I was nominated for the Encouraged Blogger Award. I don't know who started it. But what a great idea. I am nominating each of you because I am inspired and encouraged by your blogs. I follow your blogs regularly and I want others to know about your blogs and be inspired as well. "
Melisa made my day! I am so glad that my creations can encourage another person! Click here to view Melisa's blog! She has an amazing Thanksgiving centerpiece that is so super cute!

Thanksgiving Box and Challenge

Here is another box I made using TAC set Give Thanks! I love coloring that pumpkin!

I thought this would be a great box to sit at each place setting at Thanksgiving! My Grandma used to sit something small at each place and I thought maybe this could be a part of her tradition that I can carry on! Fill it with Candy or a big cookie? Possibilities are endless!
One of my Angel friends, Stacy, posted a Thanksgiving Challenge! Below are the links to other blogs with Thanksgiving projects!
Thanks for the challenge Stacy!!

Mini Pizza Box Crazy!

I am still here! Just so super busy!

So! My friend Dana had her first party the other night! She chose the Mini Pizza Box as a project for her party! I love my Scor-Pal sooo much, so I thought this would be a fun project! (Thank you Jen Carter for letting me borrow your Scor-Pal....this made it much easier to have 2 SP's for everyone to use!)

I had made one before that I really liked but I hadn't made any others yet.

So, I decided I had better practice up for the Fun Shop! And then I couldn't quit! I made a bunch! I made several very simple ones! ( I {heart} the TAC Snowflakes set!)

And then I made the one for Dana's party! This is the one I love the most! I used Kraft paper, Red Bazzil and Brown CS. I just love love love Kraft paper! I always buy Hobby Lobby's Kraft Paper. (Thank you Jennifer McGuire for that great find!) It is 25 sheets for $3.99 but when paper packs are 1/2 off......it is only $2!!

So anyway....my other favorite is RED! And with Kraft and red and brown combined, you have a super cute combination! I thought my box turned out pretty cute! The Christmas Circles and the Sweet Goodies set make the cutest tags! Add the Marvy punches and you have easy tags for your Christmas gifts, goodies or even handmade Christmas ornaments!

Thanks Dana, for having a party and picking the boxes! They are soooo easy and the tutorial and idea I got from the Scor-Pal website!! Click here for the link!

And here is the tag we made for her party too! So easy!

Blog Challenge #2

This time the challenge was to use Joy of Christmas or Holly Swirls. So, I chose Joy of Christmas!

I tried to keep it very simple, although I did do some embossing with silver powder on the ornament. I also cut the ornament hanger off and just put that by the bow! I used Veramark to stamp the small circle on the bottom of the blue cardstock. For happy holidays, I used the Holiday Liners set, masked off most of the sentiment and just stamped the happy holidays part on the card!

Very simple card!

Ok, so here is my first of several blog challenges by Melisa! She picked 2 stamp sets and those particpatings are posting their creations and then she is compiling a list so we can see everyones ideas! (All the links are posted at the bottom of this post!) Great idea Melisa!

Here is my card:

I used Snowman Nativity. It is such a cute set...(thank you Melisa for sending it to me!) I colored in the image with Lyra Aquacolor crayons and the Dove blender. The background stamp is from Salsa flowers. (I always forget about that little stamp! It makes such cute backgrounds when you use Versamark.)

Super simple card to make! Thanks for looking!

Altered Frame

I am not really good at altering things, but I thought I would give it a shot! My friend Jennifer is great at altering things! So I guess you could say, I thought of her and had to give it a shot!

I got this frame forever ago at Michael's in Fort Collins. I think I paid a dollar for it? I know it was cheap!
I used Reece paper to cover the front, after spray painting the whole thing a tanish color. I used one of the stamps from the Level A set, Laughter for the sentiment on the tag. I added red ribbon and eyelets on the tag.

A fun project! Maybe I will have to try it again sometime!

New Layout

Brody is now 10 weeks old and I haven't even started his scrapbook yet! So, I had to jump in! It is not like I haven't taken a million pics already but now that I have 2 little ones it is alot harder to find time to scrapbook!

So here is his first layout! Of course I had to make one for him and Rylee! I thought it was a cute one so I had to post it! I didn't use any stamps this time but look for more in the future to have lots of stamping!

I used my Fiskars cloud scissors for the scalloped edge and then the large hole punch on my Crop-O-Dile for the edge! I cut out stars from a patterned paper and then tied string thru the buttons and attached them with adhesive!

My new favorite adhesive, by the way, is Dot-N-Roller by Kokuyo. I heard about it on a blog that I had come upon and had to check into it! This is what it looks like...

Then how surprised was I to see that it is in my own Angel Company catalog!! So I had to put in an order! I can't believe that one slipped by me! So, if you are looking for a new adhesive, let me tell you that this one is the best! And I can get it for you! The refills are also available! Email me at llwillison@hotmail.com with questions or to place an order!

More Christmas Cards......

Here are just a few more cards I have been working on! I can't decide which ones to use for the upcoming Stamp-A-Stack but I am sure I will narrow it down!

Here is one card I made using the snowflakes set from TAC....

Here another card using the same set and colors! Isn't it amazing how one card can look so different just in how you stamp?

This snowflake card also uses "holiday greetings", which is one of our Gift With Purchase stamps! Place a $30 order by November 3rd and receive 2 free Gift With Purchase stamps!!

This card used "Merry Christmas" from one of our Level A Hostess Sets! Host a FunShop or have a book party, have $100 in sales and receive 2! Level A sets and 2! Half Price Items!! until November 3rd!!

Email me at llwillison@hotmail.com for more info!!

Can you tell I love ribbon? Well, incase you couldn't tell.......I DO!!!

One more Stamp-A-Stack idea...

Here is another card I made for the Stamp-A-Stack. It is a simple, quick and easy one but I think it turned out really cute!

This card I used "Ordinary Occasions" (TAC) and the Cuttlebug for embossing! Just another card I wanted to share! Hope you are having a great day!

Christmas is in the air....

It is finally "chilly" outside today here in Kansas! It has been so warm for so long that I was about to give up and move back to Colorado! Yeah right....Sorry Steph! (I wish!)

So, with the weather change, it got me in the mood to make some Christmas Cards. Well, that and I am having a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack and so I had to start coming up with some ideas! :)

Here are several cards that I made today!

This first one is my version of a "Rustic Santa". I used Everyday Greetings from TAC, colored him in with Watercolors and the dove blender. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the card to make it look a little more "rustic"!

Also a couple of different Noel cards.........

And one using the Holiday Magic set......

Of course I had to make a "Merry Christmas" one too!

Let me know which one you like best! For all of the girls who are coming to the Stamp-A-Stack, email me your favorites and I will make sure those are the ones we make! I will post more later! Thanks for looking!
